Signing in with Google, Facebook or Microsoft
If you choose to sign in with one of these accounts, that company tells us your name and email address, and confirms that you signed in with them. We do not receive your password for that account, your contacts, your posts or anything else. You can sign in with an email and password instead at any time.
Cookies
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in securely. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking tools, and we do not use analytics services that follow you across other websites. Your browser may also remember a few display preferences for this site, such as which tab you last opened.
Why we use your information
| Purpose | Why we are allowed to |
|---|---|
| Checking who you are before we lend to you | Needed to enter into a loan agreement with you, and required by law to prevent fraud and money laundering |
| Deciding whether you can afford a loan | Needed to enter into a loan agreement, and part of lending responsibly |
| Setting up your loan agreement, collecting repayments and sending reminders | Needed to carry out our agreement with you |
| Confirming that a new phone number or email belongs to you | Needed to keep your account secure |
| Keeping financial and accounting records | Required by law |
| Protecting your account and our service from misuse | Our legitimate interest in running a safe service, which also protects you |
People make the lending decisions. The system works out figures such as how much of your pay a repayment would take up, but a member of our team reviews every application and makes the final decision. We do not use your information for marketing by other companies, and we never sell it.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with companies that help us provide the service. They may only use it to do that work for us.
| Service provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| DigitalOcean | Provides the servers where our website, database and your uploaded documents are stored |
| Twilio SendGrid | Delivers the emails we send you |
| Meta (WhatsApp Business) | Delivers WhatsApp messages, such as reminders and verification codes |
| Sumsub | Checks identity documents |
| PandaDoc | Lets you sign your loan agreement electronically |
| Intuit QuickBooks | Keeps our accounting records of loans and payments |
| Google, Meta (Facebook) and Microsoft | Sign you in, only if you choose that option |
We may also share information when the law requires us to, for example with a court, a regulator or the police, or when we need to in order to recover money owed under a loan agreement.
Where your information is stored
Our servers are in the United States (DigitalOcean, New York). Some of the service providers above also process information outside Jamaica. When information leaves Jamaica, we only use providers that protect it to a standard the Data Protection Act, 2020 accepts.
How long we keep it
- Loans, payments and the documents behind them: 7 years after your last loan with us is closed. The law requires us to keep financial records.
- Accounts that never took a loan, and applications that were not approved: until you ask us to delete them, unless we still need them to prevent fraud.
- Verification codes: each code only works for 10 minutes. We store codes in a scrambled form that cannot be read back.
How we protect it
- Everything you send us is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Staff can only see what they need for their role, and every decision records who made it.
- Links to your documents are temporary, so they stop working shortly after they are opened.
- You confirm changes to your phone number with a one-time code. Our team checks changes to your address or pay schedule before they take effect.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2020, you can:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- ask us to stop, or not to start, using your information in a way that is likely to cause you harm or distress;
- ask us to delete your information, subject to the records the law requires us to keep (see how to delete your data);
- ask a person to review any decision about you that was made automatically; and
- complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information.
We will respond to a request within 30 days. We may ask you to prove who you are first, so that we never give your information to someone else.

For any question about your information, or to use any of the rights above, message us on WhatsApp at +1 (876) 228-8988. You can also ask your loan officer.
