Terms of service

These terms cover your use of lendingcirclejm.com, including the loan calculator and the borrower portal. They are an agreement between you and Lending Circle Limited, a company registered in Jamaica.

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What this site is

The site does two things:

• a loan calculator, which anyone can use without signing in, to see roughly what a loan would cost; and
• a borrower portal, where you can apply for a loan, upload documents, see your repayment schedule, submit proof of payment and manage your details.

The calculator is an estimate, not an offer

Figures from the calculator are indicative. They are not a quote, a pre-approval or an offer of credit, and nothing obliges us to lend to you on those terms. Your actual terms are the ones in the loan offer we send you and in the loan agreement you sign.

Who can use the portal

To have an account you must:

• be at least 18 years old;
• be resident in Jamaica;
• use your own identity and your own documents; and
• give us information that is true, current and complete.

Your account

• Keep your sign-in private. Do not share your password or let anyone else use your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to it.
• One account per person.
• Signing in with Google, Facebook or Microsoft is optional. If you use it, keep that account secure too, because it can open your Lending Circle account. You can use an email and password instead.
• Anything done through your account is treated as done by you, unless you have told us it was not.

Applying for a loan

• An application is not an approval. Our team reviews every application and may decline it.
• We may ask you for documents, such as identification, proof of address, payslips or bank statements, and we may ask for more before deciding.
• We check that repayments fit your income. This can mean we offer you less than you asked for, or nothing at all.
• If we make you an offer, you can accept or decline it. Accepting means signing the loan agreement in your account.

The loan agreement comes first

These terms govern your use of the site. The loan agreement you sign governs the loan itself: the amount, the interest, the fees, the repayment dates and what happens if you fall behind. If these terms and a loan agreement ever disagree about your loan, the loan agreement applies.

What we ask of you

• Give us accurate information, and tell us when it changes. Changes to your address or pay schedule are checked by our team before they take effect.
• Upload only genuine documents that belong to you. Submitting a false or altered document is fraud. We may decline your application, close your account and report it.
• Do not misuse the site: no attempting to reach another person's account or data, no interfering with how the site works, no automated scraping, and no using the site for anything unlawful.

Messages we send you

When you have an account or a loan with us, we send you service messages by email and WhatsApp: verification codes, payment reminders, receipts, and decisions on your requests. These are part of running your loan, so you cannot switch them off while your loan is open, though you can ask us to change which number or address we use. We do not send you marketing by WhatsApp unless you ask us to.

Availability

We work to keep the site available, but we do not promise it will always be reachable. We may take it offline for maintenance, updates or repairs. If the site is unavailable, your repayment obligations do not change — contact us on WhatsApp and we will help you make a payment another way.

Suspending or closing an account

We may suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe it is being used for fraud or unlawful activity, if the information given is false, or if the site is being misused. Closing an account does not cancel money you owe under a loan agreement.

You can ask us to close your account at any time. See how to delete your data for what we can and cannot remove.

Your information

Our privacy policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and what rights you have. It forms part of these terms.

Our content

The site, its text, design and logos belong to us. You may use them to manage your own loan. Please do not copy, republish or reuse them for anything else without our written permission.

Complaints

If something goes wrong, tell us first and we will try to put it right. Email support@lendingcirclejm.com or message +1 (876) 228-8988. If your complaint is about how we handled your personal information, you can also complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will tell you before an important change takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, and the courts of Jamaica deal with any dispute about them.
